"QUARTET" with Maggie Smith, Dustin Hoffman directing

It's sweet, gentle, and predictable to a fault, but Dustin Hoffman's affectionate direction and the talented cast's amiable charm make Quartet too difficult to resist. - IMDB

This is a lovely film directed with delicacy and taste, profoundly alive to the rhythms of its actors and characters, which gives its superlative British cast of stage and screen legends the time and space they deserve. - Andrew O'Hehir, Salon.com

Mr. Hoffman's direction is impeccable, John de Borman's camera bathes the story in warm radiance, and the end credits are not to be missed, since they reveal who's really who in the supporting cast. - Joe Morgenstern, Wall Street Journal

The characters in Quartet may be on their way out, but they aren't giving up without a fight. - Peter Rainer, Christian Science Monitor

Option A.: If you are interested in having a light snack or something to drink before the film starts, meet me anytime after 3pm at the DeLuxe Bar and Grill, 625 Broadway Ave. E., just a few doors up from the Harvard Exit. Look for my bright blue glow stick on our table. The Deluxe has good Happy Hour food and drink specials which begin at 3pm. I'll head over to the theater a little after 4:15pm.

Option B.: Showtime is 4:45pm. Meet me in the lobby of the Harvard Exit by 4:30pm so that we can enter the screening room together and find our seats. I will be outside the screening room until approximately five minutes before the program starts to direct late comers to the area where most of us are sitting.

After the film ends, and after all of the credits have run, there will be an optional food and beverage stop at a nearby cafe or restaurant. Meet me in the theater lobby if you would like, and we will regroup and plan our cafe or restaurant stop.

Street parking is free on Sundays, or there are several pay lots nearby. Convenient bus routes are the #8, 43, 49, and 60.
