BOOMER BICYCLISTS - MEET 'N GREET

MARCH 23RD IS THE DEADLINE TO REGISTER ONLINE FOR THE LBJ100 AT the $40 PRICE (or $35 with our discount code 'boom2014'). AFTER MARCH 23RD, THE REGISTRATION PRICE RISES TO $50.

Have you registered for the LBJ Ranch bike ride yet? Look at March 29th on the Boomertime calendar to learn how. To get ready for the LBJ Ranch ride, we’ll do some 3-mile loops at the Veloway this afternoon. This is the LAST training ride before 3/29. If you haven’t been on your bicycle in a while, the Veloway is an excellent way to get reacquainted with your gears, pedals, and seat - because no cars are allowed. WHAT TO BRING: Your bicycle, pump, extra tube, water bottle, helmet, snack.

A map to the Veloway is at:

http://www.veloway.com/

The LBJ100 (on March 29th) offers five ride distance, with rest stops along each route – 10, 30, 42, 62, or 85 miles. Register by March 23rd before the registration price goes up. The registration price includes the supported ride, rest stops with restrooms, snacks and drinks, lunch, live music from noon to 2pm, door prizes (bicycles and $250 gift cards) and, at 2:30pm on 3/29, a tour of the ranch with Luci Baines Johnson, daughter of President Lyndon Johnson.

Very nice, welcoming group of folks. Saw first bluebonnet of the season and wildlife on the Veloway - an armadillo.

Despite the wind and cool weather, a good day for a ride. Thank you, Lyn, for coordinating the practices and getting information to us for Saturday's ride. Looking forward to it.

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
