What we’re about

The Savvy Socials Central Texas (Savvy Socials CTX or SSCTX) is an organization dedicated to adding new friends, adventure, excitement, and fun to our everyday lives. It’s one of the newer, but certainly will be one of the most active Meetup groups in Austin and Central Texas, with the goal of having over 20 to 50+ events every month giving members ample opportunity to choose to enhance their lives in a variety of ways.
Our membership is open to everyone ages 40 and up, who are, or want to be, very active!  We are singles and couples, never married, married, divorced, widow or widower, empty nesters or close to empty nesters, with or without children.  Having been around the block once or twice already, we chose the name “Savvy Socials Central Texas” cause, we’ve been there, done that, and life tends to have more substance to us than it did when we were in our 20’s and 30’s!
We are fortunate to have the assistance of numerous "Event Hosts" who regularly post a wide variety of events: hiking, happy hours, dining, sports events, dancing, concerts and live music, arts, day-trips, camp-outs, yoga, gallery tours, movies, theater, game nights, festivals, holiday parties and a whole lot more.  You are sure to find some events and some great friendly people to enjoy those events with.   As a member you are invited to pursue becoming an "Event Host" and/or "Event Organizer" and share your ideas of fun and happiness with others.  Hosting an event is one of the best ways to get to know new people and make new friends.

HISTORY: The Savvy Socials CTX originated as “It's Boomertime” which was started almost 15+ years ago for people born after World War II, hence, the Baby Boomer name derivative.  People aged, at that time, in their late 40's to 60"s qualified as Baby Boomers.  They are now advanced in their age and no longer as active as they have been.  So, “It’s Boomertime” no longer reflects who we now are, what we do, nor our ages and activities.
If you enjoy socializing with fun people with laid back and also active lifestyles, in the 40+ age range, you found the right place!  Welcome to the “Savvy Socials of Central Texas”!

CODE OF CONDUCT: All are welcome in Savvy Socials of CTX, if he or she respects the right of others to be different, have different goals, or have different ideas on life.  We promote all the things that bring us together and discourage things that divide us or drive us apart.   We do not allow promotion of products, services, special interest groups, politics, or a particular religion.   These areas cause controversy and discontent and interfere with fun and happiness which is what we are about.  There are plenty of places to go for these areas of life.  However, Savvy Socials CTX is designed to be one place in today's society free from controversy, drama, and opinionated discourse.   All comments and postings in our meetup group or event, must be positive in nature and be related to the Events.  Let's all get together and enjoy the good, the happy, and the fun.  Our goal is that every member should feel at home and comfortable at SSCTX events regardless of personal preferences or race, color, national origin, religion, sex, age, or familial orientation.  As part of our Code of Conduct, you are Not permitted to invite any Former Member who has been removed by our Leadership group Without First seeking approval from the Leadership Team. This is for the safety to all of our member.
