It is terrific to be able to do what I want to do and not have to work. I actually enjoy keeping myself in shape (such as it is.) But I do wish I had more friends my age. I am a skier and now can plan trips that don't interfere with a job. Can't say that I enjoy putting color back into my hair or making doctor and therapy appointments to keep all the parts functioning so I can enjoy my favorite sports, but I am very pleased that I make steady progress. It isn't bad either that people tell me I am an inspiration to them because I can still bike and ski. My dad snow skied until he was 85; and it wasn't like he was an excellent skier. But he loved it and kept himself in shape so he could keep on doing it. Now he's 90 and walks for an hour every day. Can't remember anyone's name and has forgotten as much as he remembers, but he is still a good driver, cooks and shops for himself and does his own laundry. Hoping I can have the quality of life that he has if I make it to 90ish.
It is the mountain biking, the skiing, the Pilates, the yoga and the efforts I make to stay fit.
I like to do all of the above, and incorporate socializing within the scope of all my activities. Meeting new people and finding out about them just makes everything more rewarding. I would like to do more dancing like I used to do in the disco days. Gosh that was fun.

Can you tell by my picture that I am a mountain biker? I am a ride leader; I like it that much. After mountainbiking, I like to do yoga and Pilates Reformer. I used to teach Spanish, years ago, and now I just like to exercise and meet people.
I love Boomers!
