Dear Bootlawyers,

To follow a highly interactive September session, which featured an unprecedented number of questions for our employment experts, the next Bootlaw promises yet more know-how of the highest quality. We are very excited to invite Californian Attorney Linda Michaelson, Partner at US firm Sheppard, Mullin, Richter and Hampton LLP to Bootlaw Towers on Wednesday 17 October 2012, to give us the low-down on the West Coast and the Valley.

Linda advises a range of clients from large corporates (including some major studios) to emerging companies in various sectors such as entertainment, media and technology, and will give us the inside view on the differences between the UK and the West Coast and what VCs are really looking for in firms to invest, pitfalls to avoid when VC fundraising and the present appetite and predictions for the next 6-12 months in the VC world. Was Facebook the end of the latest boom……tune in to find out!

If you’re a serious start-up looking for inspiration on how to turn your Tech City venture into the next silicon sensation, this is an evening you cannot afford to miss.

The format of the evening will be, as usual:

6.30pm – Doors open, beer and networking

7pm – Legal bit starts.

8pm – Legal bit ends; more beer, pizza and networking.

9pm – End; head to the pub (White Horse, Exchange Square)

Remember, Google Maps and the map on DO NOT point at our office accurately as there is a glitch with the postcode database, so please use this map if visiting us for the first time:
