Workshop: 8 hours of hands-on lockpicking 101 / practice on North American locks

Before RSVPing, Please send $95 via PayPal to [masked]

Everybody will be given high-quality lockpicking tools for free. In this workshop, you will pick for 8 hours while learning about everything from speed picking strategies for rapid entry to how the world's first locks were conceived. We'll cover several locking concepts, a wide range of entry tools and a host of different techniques. Some of what we'll cover:

  • Basic/Advanced picking
  • Defeating common security features
  • Handcuffs & other bypasses
  • Mixed-method speed picking
  • Masterkeying
  • Introduction to high security picking
  • Lock engineering
  • Making picks

The goal of this class is to give you a massive breadth of knowledge from which to build up your technique and explore more advanced concepts. We will be hands on the whole time, so that even when you are learning more abstract theory, you will have picks in hand to get as much time in on the wide range of picks and locks as possible.

Level: Beginner

Schuyler is a once and future champion lockpicker who has turned to the academic side of surreptitious entry. He's trained everyone from law enforcement to toy designers about lock design and defeat. Follow his instructions and you will get in.

Hey Everyone! The day is almost upon us. If you haven't seen it already, this is a quick description of what training with me is like:

I recently did a similar training at RVASec in Virginia which went great and I've refined my process pretty well. I genuinely believe that by the end of class we'll have everyone not just picking locks, but picking security pins and maybe even some of you will tackle high security stuff. A lot of it will fall on your own level of engagement. 8 hours is long and I am going to hit you with a TON of information, so get some sleep or bring some caffeine, it'll be a packed day.

Oh, and as stated, everyone will be getting picks. You'll have all the basic tools I like to teach with, plus a case and a particular tension wrench that I hand-make from windshield wiper blades. We'll cover making your own picks too :)

    See you there! I'm stoked

I'd like to go but I don't want to open a PayPal account just to do this. Is there a web page where I can make a payment with a credit card?

lol, you promise to make it? We're keeping the attendees list very accurate, so I'll add you to the RSVP list but only if you're absolutely positive. Just make sure to give Schuyler cash.

I don't want to sign up until we know the location. Is it in the Boston metro area?

Network Technology Academy, it's next to the Oak Grove T stop on the orange line heading to Malden. I'll update the location soon.
