i've been quite busy (and injured for awhile), so i haven't organized any events in months. however, i will begin organizing weekend skates now that the nice weather is here (and my knee has healed); in particular, look for upcoming events on memorial drive in cambridge. the sunday 11a-7p closures begin this sunday, 25 april and it's a great way to get in a skate on a sunday ... before we head over to the border cafe for margaritas. (important safety rule: skate first, then margaritas.)
i'm also asking if anyone would like to become an Assistant Organizer. if you have favorite places to skate that we haven't visited, why not become an assistant organizer and introduce us to them? i'm sure that some of you do have places you like, or would like to try out, so why not get out there and roll along with some fun folks?
for example, patty is doing the Ayre Nashua Rail Trail
meetup on 15 may. i haven't skated there, but if i'm free that day, i'm definitely checking it out.
it's easy and it's fun to be an assistant organizer. if you've been a meetup member for a bit, i'm sure you have a good feel for the organizer role already, but i'm available to help you get started and answer any questions you might have. (of course, you can also let me know if you have any problems during an event and i'll take care of that, too.)
please reply to this email if you're interested in doing some organizing. also note that you don't have to become a permanent assistant organizer as meetup now allows one-shot 'event hosts'; if you have an idea for a skate that you'd like to try out and you're willing to organize it, i can make an event host just for that event, too.
see you down the road,
