Why would you like to join our group?

Graduate student at Tufts, born and lived in France all my life, arrived in the US one year ago. Started learning japanese in France, but haven't been able to continue since arriving here, which makes me worried it will disappear (I already lost a lot of it).

Are you a native speaker of English or Japanese or another language? Which? How fluent are you in your non-native language?

Good enough english to work / write a thesis here, I would say a 4 on the ILR scale. As for Japanese, I would say that I *was* at a 2 on this same scale, but went down to 1.5 because of lack of use. Not much trouble with grammar, but huge lacks in vocabulary. I understand what people say, but it takes me some time. Similarly, takes me time to formulate sentences.

What kind of activity would you like to attend?
