I am looking for a Japanese conversation group so I can practice speaking and become more comfortable with it. I definitely would not mind being a voice for English conversation practice as well--I've done something similar to language/cultural exchange meetings with some native Japanese speakers in the past, and it was a lot of fun learning from each other. I have never been to Japan (hopefully that will change soon!), but I have studied the language on and off in class and on my own for a few years. I am absolutely in love with Japanese music and manga, and the food is quite delicious, too! Currently I'm working on a Master's in teaching ESL/EFL. Since I want to be able to teach in the U.S and abroad, I'm trying to (re)master a few foreign languages I have studied before. I have the occasional Japanese customer at my retail job as well.
My Japanese level is a bit jumbled: I can read untranslated materials and understand a pretty good chunk of it so long as it's not *too* technical (でも、まだ辞書を使えなくちゃ。。。）; however, my kanji writing has tanked a bit since I have been doing more reading, and my conversation level is somewhere between beginner and intermediate due to weak grammar from not speaking much.

Hello! I am studying Japanese on my own, though I took some classes a few years ago. I want to improve my conversation skills for fun and work, as well as learn more about Japanese culture today. And a few new recipes, J-rock and manga suggestions=^)
