Studied Japanese for four years, did a six-month study at Sophia University in Tokyo, and participated in the Middlebury Summer Language Program, where I met Michael Jarvie, one of this group's Assistant Organizers. I'm very interested in building linkages across cultures and how images in popular media influence how we interact with people from other countries. As to other trivia, recently finished my Master's in International Affairs at American University in DC, and trying to find a way to use it professionally. Hobbies include watching films, baking fancy desserts, singing karaoke and getting teams together for bar trivia
English: Native Speaker Japanese: Used to be conversational with intermediate literacy, but it's been like 3 years since I used my Japanese regularly so I might be really out of practice.
Karaoke night? Happy Hours? Casual meets for coffee and tea?
Currently work in Cambridge. studied Japanese for 4 years, and was an exchange student in Tokyo for 6 months. Before coming to Boston a few years ago, I didn't have many chances to use my Japanese, so I'm a little rusty. Please be patient with me!
