Oslo, August 31st (Norwegian movie)

If I had known the showtimes sooner for Oslo, August 31st, I would have scheduled it with more advance notice. I’ve heard some intriguing reviews of the movie, all of them glowing. I’m a little bit sorry that I read so many of them because one of them might have given the ending away. If you want to find out more about Oslo, August 31st, I would suggest watching the trailer at the theater’s website and not reading any reviews past the first paragraph or so!

I will purchase my ticket at around 4:30 p.m., then wait in the theater lobby between 4:30 and 5:00 p.m. Look for me and my red backpack. At about 5:00, I will move into the theater auditorium. You can find me there if you are late. The movie starts at 5:20 p.m.

After the movie, I will wait in the theater lobby to gather everyone. Look for the red backpack.

If we decide to go out after the movie, be prepared to add 25% to the cost of your order for both the tax and the tip. Restaurants in the area add the gratuity to the check automatically. Bring CASH to make division of the check easier.

Please RSVP if you plan to attend this event.

Loved this movie. Very different and not what I expected. Fascinating look at a day in the life of one person in Oslo. Based on "Le feu follet" by Pierre Drieu La Rochelle, which Louis Malle also made into a movie. Great dinner and conversation at the Blue Shirt Cafe. Thanks for coming to the movies!

I posted this with other groups, so look for the red backpack and a small group of five or six. I will wait for a few minutes in the lobby after the last credits have rolled to gather everyone together.

Marla, I will post this clarification because others may have their brains in a twist, and that's not what I want!

The name of the movie is "Oslo, August 31st." We're seeing it on Sunday, September 2.

(Two days' notice is a bit last minute for some people.)
