Sorry for the extra email, but I think this needs to be addressed.
For some reason, since the powers that be at meetup have decided to provide a public discussion area for each meetup event, there have been a few inappropriate postings to these areas.
This is for discussing the events, members helping newbies figure out how it works...or attendees and other members discussing the movie amongst themselves. When used properly this adds a fun dimension to the meetups. I have greatly enjoyed reading the input of members on films, to see what they think...or what they know about the director, actors, producers, book it was based on, etc.
However, I have noticed that some people are using it to post inappropriate materials like personal photos, non-applicable commentary, and advertising outside events. It is extra annoying because anyone who is attending or has attended a meetup will get emails about the comments.
I am trying to keep up with these things and delete them as I see them and I know Fred is doing so as well. Some members have given me a heads up if they notice anything, which I do appreciate. It also concerns me that there may be other things posted to the site or happening that we don't see. If you notice anything and it is not removed within 24 hours, please zip me an email or talk to me at an event.
Please, be respectful of other members and don't spam people with inappropriate usage of the comments sections, or other areas on this site.
