Proudhon's What Is Property?

Pierre-Joseph Proudhon's What Is Property? (1840), which famously concludes that "property is theft!" is one of the foundation texts of left -- socialist -- anarchism.

We'll discuss the first third of the book, up to but not including the chapter, "Labor as the efficient cause of property" -- about 100 pages.

Later, we'll cover the rest of the book in two more meetings.

The site's e-text seems to substantially abridged (censored?), so we recommend Project Gutenberg's version:

Amazon has the paperback for $9.65.
