July alternate book club- MetroWest

Okay, we are going to test this out to see what kind of response it gets. We will be reading Hyperion, by Dan Simmons.  We are open to suggestions for the location for this meetup.  It doesn't have to be somewhere that serves food and drink.  It is completely up to us.  Depending on interest we may try this again.  As this is the first time we are trying this, I am capping attendance at 12.  Once we have a meeting we will better know how many people we can accommodate and the number may be able to go up.

I just heard this on the news and thought I'd share in case anyone is taking the Framingham Line (delays) later.

I have a softball game that should finish a wee bit after 7pm, so I will probably be late.

our good reads page is at http://www.goodreads.com/group/show/82605-boston-scifi-fantasy-book-club. You can click the activity button under each book to see what everyone thought of the book. Be sure to rate the books that you have read. All the books we have read to date are in the library.

Why is this so far away? To reach the people who don't live near boston?

The idea was that all the events were taking place in Cambridge/Somerville and people that live in other places have a hard time making it to these meetups. I figure that by having this group read the same book it would also be open to people who can't make the other meeting. If someone wants to start and there is enough interest in starting a group in some other part of the city, please let us know and we will help you get it started.

I can't make it out to Framingham but do hugely recommend this book and its sequels.

Jax, just checked some picks and they are indeed to small. La careers does sound like a better choice. I will update the info when I get home.

I'm going to say Yes and try my hardest to read this book. I would not recommend the Aztec but rather www.lacarretamex.com since its bigger and not usually crowded on a Tuesday. Aztec is small. :-) I living in Framingham so LMK if you need more info.
