Newton book club August

This month we will be reading The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy by Douglas Adams . From Goodreads:  "Seconds before the Earth is demolished to make way for a galactic freeway, Arthur Dent is plucked off the planet by his friend Ford Prefect, a researcher for the revised edition of The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy who, for the last fifteen years, has been posing as an out-of-work actor.

Together this dynamic pair begin a journey through space aided by quotes from The Hitchhiker's Guide ("A towel is about the most massively useful thing an interstellar hitchhiker can have") and a galaxy-full of fellow travelers: Zaphod Beeblebrox--the two-headed, three-armed ex-hippie and totally out-to-lunch president of the galaxy; Trillian, Zaphod's girlfriend (formally Tricia McMillan), whom Arthur tried to pick up at a cocktail party once upon a time zone; Marvin, a paranoid, brilliant, and chronically depressed robot; Veet Voojagig, a former graduate student who is obsessed with the disappearance of all the ballpoint pens he bought over the years."

We will again meet at the Newton Center Panera Bread. Parking is free after 7pm on the street or in the lot across the street. The Newton Center stop on the Green D line is a short walk away.

I know space is getting tight, If anyone has any ideas for more spacious accommodations, please let me know.

Dumb question - where in Panera do people meet? I'm new and have no idea what people look like.

Any luck on finding a new location for this meetup in Newton that can handle more people? Does the library have a meeting room we could use maybe? It's very depressing that this meetup is waitlisted for months to come...

Does it have to be in Newton? Would just T accessible do? If so, maybe we could meet at b. Good on Mass. Ave. I could look into it if T access is Ok.

I too prefer a smaller group. I think the intent is to keep it west of Boston.

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.

Henry, started Reno Motorcycle Riders
