Abraham Lincoln, Vampire Hunter (7:30pm @ Boston Commons Loews)

Alright folks.  Harvard doesn't seem to have its act together for this film, so we're moving to the Boston Commons Loews!  I don't know much about food down this way or bars or anything really, so I'd love suggestions on dinner/drinks places!  Hope you can still come :)

Also, I'd recommend getting your ticket in advance, as this particular theatre is a real zoo.

I'll be standing out front wearing a captain's hat!

The only way to enjoy of ridiculous movie like this is with a group of friends, and the meetup provided just that.

I loved the movie and the socialization before and after. However, I would definetly give a second thought to ordering food from that place again. It was alright, but I was not exactly overwhelmed. Other than that an awesome night!

I saw the ALVH movie with the Boston Movie Group. I am a new member of both groups. But, as a "serene" compromise, I will meet this group Sunday for the late show at Coolidge. (Do you think the acronym will catch on?)

Sorry I missed you guys at dinner, but the movie was badass! And goofy! It was badass in it's goofiness and vice-versa. Haha!

Wardrobe change: purple and white striped shirt instead of captain's hat.

Is it too late to sign up for Dinner? I figure I go to these sorts of things for the social aspect before and after...I can go to a movie closer to home.

Is it too late to add one more for dinner? If so that's ok sorry for late notice.

I don't know if anyone heard, but the usual meetup spot for the movies, Harvard, is closing next month. - http://www.boston.com/yourtown/news/cambridge/2012/06/amc_to_close_theater_in_harvar.html?p1=Upbox_links

Is there anymore room for dinner? :D

Excellent! I was afraid I would walk into the 4D showing and end up at the actual Gettysburg address! I'll try to make dinner too.

    Yes, we are!

Are you all going to the 2D showing at 7:30?

    June 21, 2012

  • Sarah

Hi all! Let's meet at the restaurant at 5:45. I've reserved a table for 10 for 6pm, but we can get a drink at the bar beforehand. See you all tomorrow!!

I will also meet you guys for dinner.

That is a good question. Also, are we meeting at the theater and going to dinner from there or meeting at the resturaunt?

I plan to come to dinner.

Alright, I've selected Stoddard's (http://www.stoddardsfoodandale.com) I can attest to the awesome drinks. We'll see about the food. Please let me know ASAP if you plan to come to dinner!

    June 18, 2012

  • Sarah

Thanks Brandy! Both places seem a little pricey. If everyone gets appetizers or burgers it's fine, but otherwise I'm not sure. What do others think about $15-20 entrees?

    June 18, 2012

  • Joseph A.

Oh, I've heard good things about the second one! :)

    June 18, 2012

  • Sarah

Is there a specific restaurant you like, Joseph?

    June 17, 2012

  • Sarah

I'm not a fan of Chinese food in Boston, but if others want to go, that's cool.

    June 17, 2012

  • Joseph A.

Well, the tremont st theater is about 10 min walking distance to Chinatown. If 15 people actually come, then that is the only place I can think that so many people can be fed and seated at reasonable prices...

  • Sarah

There is a rumor that Harvard won't be getting it. I'll call tomorrow to confirm and report back.

    June 16, 2012

  • Becky

I am reading it now, can't wait to see the movie!
