Summer Tennis Wknd - 3.5+

get a group of 3.5 and above players meeting on wknd early morning in Brookline to play double round robins

To ensure we have a low stress, high fun environment, I have laid out a few ground rules:

1. After warmup, we will be playing double to 4 games win by 2 (at 4 / 4, play a 7 pt tiebreaker win by 2), there will be no ad scoring, meaning if the score reach deuce, whoever win the next pt wins the game

2. Tennis is a social game, so absolutely no cursing / berating ur Opp or partners or commenting on their games during playing, if u want to berate urself , feel free

3. There will be no disputed calls, respect and accept ur Opp's calls no matter what, on ur own calls on returning serve, ur net man got the call on the T and whether it is deep, u the returner got the call on whether the serve is wide to the alley

4. when ur match is finished, please invite the ppl who been sitting and waiting to hit and warm up while the other matches finish and we can re-pair everyone

5. Everyone bring a can of fresh balls to ensure we got enough to play with

given the demand / volume of ppl, we will be using all the courts for matchs majority of the time, if u don't like playing matchs and just want to hit around, we will do a social meetup later on and come to those instead

On rule 2 and 3, I reserved the right as host to ask violators to leave and if the offense is significant, banned from all future events I host

Got several emails on the definition of 3.5/ntrp - it is a rating system developed by the US tennis association in helping ppl to pair up similar skill levels.  Usually u get a official rating for playing tournament, leagues or a renowned local usta teaching pro who can rate you after playing / observing u.  If none of those apply to your case, u can follow this link and take u to a file that explain each level in minute detail - http://files.meetup.com/1618259/ntrp%20rating.pdf

Direction:
By T- green line stop at Clev Circle / Resevoir, few mins bike / walk over
By Car - off rt 9 or beacon, plenty of parking in lot or street

Where exactly are these courts? There are two of us at the school next to the spot on the map.

Hi Chris, I just saw an email I was added, but as of this morning there were no spots so I made other plans since I thought it was 24 hour notice. I changed my RSVP so hopefully someone else can fill my spot. Thanks though! Hopefully next time!

The weather is iffy at best at the moment, may scare off players, but I hope for a good Sat morning turnout, weather looks good!

just to let you know that no-one showed up for the tennis this morning Tuesday. Have no idea where 3 people could be. I hope that Saturday is much better in terms of number of people attending.
    See u then

I would like to join this group, but there are no spots left. So I could be a sub if someone needs someone. I played tennis growing up and all through HS and some light playing since, but I am looking to get back to playing more consistently.

Hi Chris, I'm not familiar with Boston yet, are the courts located in Brookline Park? http://www.brooklinema.gov

Do you have a suggested address that we can use for Google map?

    Thanks
