How Does WordPress Fit Into Your Social Strategy? by Zac Champigny (@zacchampigny)

We all know WordPress is great for content management, but how does it fit into your social strategy? Here Zac will show you how to make your WordPress site the home base of your online social strategy. We will cover why it’s valuable, what plugins help keep your social community connected and how to track and measure the ROI of taking these steps.

Zac is an associate at the Startup Institute in Boston, a WordPress consultant at zacchampigny.com, and recently returned from Medellin, Colombia after working for his favorite blog postmasculine.com for six months. He loves the tech world and has been putting his effort into helping grow the local startup community here in Boston. Outside of the tech world he is a coach, counselor, and motivational speaker working out of Salem, MA.

I loved it Kevin! Some WordPress APIs can be a real pain to work without a little help. Can't wait for a chance to try this library out on a project.

I think I was the least technical person in the room but I was still able to come away from the meeting with some useful information.
    I will definately be back!

Excellent talk. I learned a lot, up-to-the minute stuff about SEO, etc. What particularly impressed me was and is Zac's interactions with both fellow experts and audience members. Thanks from a newbie.

Ken - At the last meetup we discussed moving the meetup start time up to 6:30, precisely in order to allow more networking time at the end! Stay tuned for future meetups, we may be trying that format out.

Looking forward to tonight. Working on a project that requires custom user registration and forms data to be validated against a calendar to book appointments and struggling getting the right WP plugins talking to each other and working the right way. Would appreciate the opportunity to geek out with some of your more advanced WP users. First Meetup group meeting: Is format just open networking + talk or is there designated areas/tables to go for help (ala: Genius Bar style)?

I am the Exec Director of the Ecological Landscaping Association (ELA) in the Boston area. I'm having trouble with Windows 8 on my new laptop when trying to update our WordPress based website www.ecolandscaping.org. Problems don't occur if I log into the website wp-admin from a computer with Vista or XP-Pro OS. With no IT department, WordPress hasn't been upgraded since installation 3 years ago. Any suggestions for locating local support experienced with these issues (experienced, reliable, and affordable for our small nonprofit)?

    • David Dashifen Kees

Penny: I googled your site, called the contact number, and left a message. Hopefully it reaches you. Feel free to drop me a ling off-group; various contact information is available in my meetup.com profile.

Do these events generally have a topic or is it simply a get-together for people who love WordPress?

    February 27

    • Jon Bishop

They are actually very structured. We usually do two sessions with some networking time and one on one time for people that need help with the basics. Check previous events for more insight on our layout.
