For those WordPress/designer-y folks. New England GiveCamp (http://newenglandgivecamp.org) is still looking for a few volunteers THIS WEEKEND. If you can set aside the chunk of time, you'll be helping one (or more) of about 2 dozen local charities! Registration at http://negc2014.Eventbrite.com

RSVPs are closed because we need to provide an attendee list to Microsoft. If you want to come and did not RSVP, you should still be able to show up and sign in at the front desk.

Will you be talking only about visual artists or also cover other professions (e.g. music)?

    1 · March 26, 2014

    • K. Adam W.

I'll be focusing on visual art websites, but I'll see if I can find any resources about music sites—and I'd certainly love to include musicians in the discussion at the end, if you have any tips to share or or frustrations you've experienced!

Has anyone used Themeforest's "Titan Responsive Portfolio Photography Theme" (http://themeforest.net/item/titan-responsive-portfolio-photography-theme/5072056)? I purchased it a few months ago intending to use it for my own photography. It looks pretty good. Hwvr, I wonder about the level of difficulty.

    March 26, 2014

  • K. Adam W.

Do you have a favorite portfolio theme, or know a good plugin that can help artists or photographers show or publicize your work? Leave a link in these comments and I'll include an overview of as many as I can in the talk!

Actually I am currently working on a WP site for my artist sister (unfinished), using the free and simple Tiny Forge theme with NextGen Gallery. Not bad. Hwvr, there are two problems: (1) For some reason Tiny Forge does not work well with Safari-for-Windows - the text and menu cannot be seen. (2) NextGen is nice in general but the gallery display is inconsistent from browser to browser. Some browser displays the thumbnails in 4 columns, some in 3. Take a looksee: http://www.lettyhusso...
