Client Side Data Management

Irene Ros will discuss techniques for handling data in the client with JavaScript.

In her work at Bocoup, Irene has been building both large complex data visualization applications for data exploration, and document driven linear stories with data. Irene is also the author of Dataset (http://misoproject.com/dataset/), the JavaScript client-side data transformation and management library.

Thanks for a great presentation! It was great to see the way these js libraries can be integrated with d3. You've shown me a whole new set of toys...er, uh, tools to play with! 8^)

Irene was interesting and animated. I missed a couple of important fine points until I talked with her after (that Columizer uses typed arrays, that miso.dataset is a column store), and I thought she went through her code too quickly. I still learned a lot, these are minor quibbles.

Excellent overview of how to manage local data for javascript applications. Irene reviewed several approaches with some Heroic examples of how to use them and visualize/use the data in a web context.

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.

Henry, started Reno Motorcycle Riders
