Boston ASL Pages

This Meetup is for people from all walks of life, with varying life experiences, as well as people with all different levels of ASL skills and abilities. This group is all-encompasing in terms of: Deaf, HoH, and hearing individuals, all using ASL and interested in and respecting Deaf Culture. Many people in this group want to improve their ASL abilities. This group may not be ideal for people with no knowledge of ASL, because it is meant as a follow-up to ASL classes, not as a replacement for them. When joining this group, it is helpful to know the ABC's (fingerspelling) first, in order to be able to introduce yourself and join the conversation. Anyone with patience and motivation can learn ASL! It is best to learn the basics from a reliable source, such as a certified teacher of ASL. The best way to improve your skills is practice using the language, and interaction with the Deaf community. This group welcomes anyone with a sincere appreciation for the language, regardless of skill level. We encourage Deaf people who are fluent in ASL to join us!
