Disproof Atheism Discussion: "Disproving God from the Parent-Child Analogy"

On June 17 (Tuesday), starting at 7:30p, The Disproof Atheism Society will present “Ideas for Disproving God from the Parent-Child Analogy.” The discussion will critically examine the parent-child analogy which theism often appeals to in defense of God, and will explore possible ways the analogy is a defeater for God by drawing on a variety of sources, including the Bible and: J. L. Schellenberg, “Divine Hiddenness Justifies Atheism” (2004), in Peterson & VanArragon (eds.), Contemporary Debates in Philosophy of Religion (2004), pp. 30-41. Reprinted in Martin & Monnier (eds.), The Improbability of God (2006), pp. 413-26 Trent Dougherty, “Reconsidering the Parent Analogy: Unfinished Business for Skeptical Theists,” International Journal for Philosophy of Religion 72 (2012): 17-25

We just grab a coffee and speak French. Some people have been coming every week for months... it creates a kind of warmth to the group.
