Godless hiking in the White Mountains

We will hike up Mount Osceola in the White Mountains. This is one of the easier 4000 footers. See here for a good description of the trail: http://www.hikenewengland.com/Osceola991030.html We will be trying to facilitate car-pooling but at this point, based on early indications of interest, we have more people needing a ride than we have rides available. If you have a car, you are encouraged to attend. If you need a ride, it will be first come first served. We will meet at Sullivan Square T station so that drivers and riders can meet up.

Great hike. The view was amazing. Should probably not advertise any of these 4000 footers with a qualification like "easier" - but it was well worth the summit. BTW Chris, you can send those iphone pictures to [masked] as well... look forward to seeing them.

While not hard a hard hike per se, this is a 4hr, 6.4 mile hike with 2060ft of elevation gain, versus 1800ft for Monadnock or[masked]ft for Wachusett. So make sure to come prepared with lots of water, snacks, and preferably wear synthetics (cotton holds moisture and can chill you).

The website says I can only bring 2 guests but I want to bring the family. Is family okay on this outing? Youngest boy is 8yrs.

We just grab a coffee and speak French. Some people have been coming every week for months... it creates a kind of warmth to the group.
