(Yet another) plea for tolerance

 Sorry, but I did not realize that you are an atheist. Being a Catholic, we would not be good company for each other."

You hear about this kind of thing, but to coin a phrase, I never thought it would happen to me.

Imagine my surprise getting thrown out of a meet-up I thought was for people who share a passion for the cosmos. (the irony that many of our renown star-gazes have been atheists seems to be lost on this gentleman.)

I won't post my response, because I'm ashamed to say I didn't use the teachable moment nearly as well as Zach would .

But I am sending a plea out to my community for my most important belief: Tolerance. Intolerance and prejudice is destructive in every community, including our own. It starts with nonsense like this, and goes rapidly downhill from there.
