I don’t know if I agree, sometimes. Is face to face conversation always better? Is it really better for open dialogue to have people inhibited or confined by social graces. I mean, yea, the conversation can spiral down rather fast – but at least it’s not cowering the corner nodding its head only because it’s afraid to get punched.

I wouldn't recommend conversations in bars either. 

I wasn't raised on computers, but I've noticed people (myself included) become overly defensive (and sometimes offensive) when hiding behind a screen. 

I was just noticing the numerous back and forth emails filling up my inbox and realized I prefer quality over quantity.  (That's not meant to be a snooty comment . . .I just like the company of people, as well as effective conversations.)

At least email messages can reach multiple people. Conversations in bars
are limited to the very adjacentmost.
