An eye for an eye makes the whole world blind. Also, I'm not condoning anything, but it takes a certain kind of courage (misplaced in this case mind you) to die for your cause. The best way to stop the philosophy of political terrorism is to prove that it doesn't accomplish the political aims it is intended to. That being said, when dealing with religious extremism, evidence is sadly ineffective, and there will always be crazy angry people who just want others to suffer.

Let us make the best of the world we have, for there is no other (despite the wishful thinking of theists).

I'm upset too, but I think that's going too far. Religions have a
history of holding others responsible for the actions of a relative, but
we're better than that.
