Hey, this might be random and I don't want to destroy anyone's work day with a huge discussion, so feel free to email me back off the mailing list, if you wish. But, could someone please look into this guy a little bit, I've already been trying to through his website and youtube videos, and please tell me if I'm either crazy, or you're in agreeance that his speech is just obfuscation or if his stuff actually makes some kind of logical sense, but just has wrong premises, or something along those lines. Albeit, I know we don't have PhDs in physics and argumentation (don't think you can have a PhD in that, but what the hell).

"But here's the dilemma: How can our organization protest exclusion from interfaith memorial services? If it does not support interfaith work?"
This was a civic -- a state -- event, that should have been inclusive rather than "interfaith." Hence, our objection.

"If the demand is to replace interfaith with a word such as interpath, that doesn't resolve the ideological objections to such coalition work."
I have to imagine that the BA will be undertaking coalition work on a case-by-case basis. That doesn't limit the argument that civic/government events should be inclusive (interpath) rather than exclusive (of nontheist groups, by dint of terms like interfaith, and by force of practice).

"I'm an atheist and for me that simply means I don't believe in gods, goddesses or other supernatural entities. For me it's not a belief system."
I imagine that's the case for many of us.

"The emergence of atheist organizations, like most organizations, usually requires a mission, goals and objectives."
Allow me to take this chance to remind everyone: Anyone interested in helping to define the mission, goals, and objectives of the Boston Atheists, should join the steering committee. Talk to President Josiah for more information.

All best,

Z
