Collision, an excellent debate between Hitchens and a Christian scholar, is on YouTube as is Four Horsemen, a conversation between Sam Harris, Christopher Hitchens, Richard Dawkins, and another atheist thinker who's name escapes me.

This is online and ends with a link saying see "Beyond Belief" but when clicked, it leads to a statement that the video has been removed by the user. Not sure what's up with that. Maybe the movie of the same name got after him. He's got a YouTube Channel titled The Science of Sarcasm and you should be able to contact him through it.

Hi,

This is a long shot but I am giving it a try...Does anyone know where to find a video called "beyond belief" by the you-tuber "the science of sarcasm" previously known as "notinmyname".  It is an excellent short video exposing the absurdity of an anthropomorphic deity using the vastness of the universe as an arguing principle.

At the same time what you-tube channels do people recommend?
Best,

DELIVER US FROM EVIL was a rough documentary for an atheist. Not as gleefully fun as Brother Maher's Religulous. Studying religion is the best way to dissect it though!

I'd also suggest "In God We Trust?" which is available on YouTube.  I'm about halfway through it and can only watch it in small chunks.  That's how upsetting it is.

Subject: [bostonatheists] Documentary of interest: "We were meant to be a Christian nation."

"We were meant to be a Christian nation. That is what our Founding Fathers intended, what they wrote into the Declaration of Independent, and what they wrote into the Constitution. And it's served us well for the past 200 years; but unfortunately we're getting so far away from that foundation. What we need is strong leaders, who can reflect the principles our nation was founded on."

These words -- spoken by a volunteer for the Phil Kline for Attorney General campaign in Kansas -- figure in the 2009 documentary "What's the Matter with Kansas?," http://www.hulu.com/watch/235713. (Compare to this line from the 2006 doc, "Jesus Camp": "Our nation was founded on Judeo-Christian values." Also on Hulu, at http://www.hulu.com/watch/337498.)

I recommend "What's the Matter with Kansas?" as an informative if scattered look at

1) the way the politics and religion blend at the local and state level, and

2) the signal features of the social change that's somehow transformed Kansas -- once the home of a socialist, radical, and far-reaching American populism -- into the contemporary touchstone standard of deep-rooted Christian conservatism.

Filmicly yours,

Z
