Re: [bostonatheists] Boston Mayoral candidates

Any events coming up where it's appropriate to ask?  There are all manner of small house parties and events for individual candidates.  Good potential for a more in-depth discussion, but not good for getting answers across all the candidates.  I'm going to start attending these as invitations come my way.

The only other panel I am aware of us the one on transportation, but perhaps there are others coming up where these questions would be a better fit?  Suggestions?

Q1: In times of crisis, and times of celebration, will (at minimum) the Boston Coalition of Reason be contacted to provide secular representation alongside the religious representation?

Q2: Would you appoint a qualified, open Atheist to any appointable positions?  Or hire one?

Q3: Can Atheists be trusted?

Q3 would, in my opinion, be best asked at a town hall style meeting.  I leave the rest to my betters.

So: what questions should the Boston Atheists organization send to the candidates, regarding their attitudes toward, and plans to represent, their secular constituents?

Hi folks,

Anyone else following the Boston mayor's race?  I've been paying a little attention, but have not been following carefully.  Does anyone have  anything to share about candidates support for secular Bostonians?

At the panel on parks issues last night there was a question to candidates about how they would have handled an event recently cancelled (not sure what it was) due to concerns about safety, referring specifically to concern about terrorism.  While all candidates had decent answers, Charles Clemons interrupted the next speaker for the following addendum to his statement "The only thing we have to fear is God."

So I wasn't excited about that.

Please share if you have learned anything relevant about any of the candidates.

Debbie
