Can someone fill me in on why humanists want to get involved in the circumcision debate.
Seems to me it is a personal (usually parental) choice. Health benefits of yes or no are not clear. In some cases it is based on religion, but we won't change them -- and why do we care.
To me, important items to humanists should include separation of church and state, reason, scientific thinking, morality, and the future of the planet.
Why do we care about circumcision? Are there not
better things we can focus on?

Subject: [bostonatheists] Circumcision Protest in Boston Mass. Tomorrow
Please spread the word. This is a subject that European Humanists have really taken the lead on, and we in the United States have been letting pass. I just found out about this and spent some time talking to the protesters. Any press that can be brought to bear would be helpful as well.
