How would you like to volunteer at the NECHV?

In order to satisfy the interest many members have shown in hands-on service opportunities, the BA has reached out with an offer to volunteer with the New England Center for Homeless Veterans. How would you be willing to support this effort? Find more information about the Center at http://www.nechv.org/.

What night should we meet for drinks down in Salem-town?

Let's meet down in Salem for a Halloweenish drinks-and-dinner night. When would you like to go, and where would you like to eat?

What do you want to do this fall?

In the autumn, with the return of our campus members, and the generally pleasant weather, e like to do seasonal activities in addition to the usual new members brunch, Disproof Atheism Society meeting, and monthly pub night. What would *you* like to do?

Should the Boston Atheists sponsor a Debaptism, in recognition of "One Day, No Religion"?

In recognition of the proposed "One Day, No Religion" campaign -- as at http://february20.org -- it has been suggested that the BA sponsor a de-baptism evening. We would meet in a public venue to support members who want to publicly repudiate their former Catholicism by explaining their reasons for not wanting to be even a passive Catholic, and participating in a symbolic de-baptism consisting of a hairdryer applied to the forehead. Similar events have been held by freethought groups in other parts of the country, but not without controversy. The decision to sponsor such an event here in Boston, on February 20th or another date, will be left to the membership. Voting will close at the end of January.

In addition to the usual new members brunch; a dinner in Salem; and our annual Halloween costume party, the organizers are considering several ideas for events in October that encourage active involvement from members.
