Global Windows Azure Bootcamp - Cambridge (at NERD)

What: Boston (well, Cambridge) Edition of the 2014 Global Windows Azure Bootcamp

Where: this event is at NERD (go to the 11th floor), with a parallel event happening in Watertown - please sign up for one or the other! (There are also more than 100 other similar events happening all over the world on the same day.)

Whence: Saturday, March 29th, 2014 -- a day of learning about Windows Azure, with lots of hands on (you will bring a laptop)

Parking: Parking is available in the NERD building (enter from Memorial Drive side). It costs money (not sure amount - will update if I can get the info). Free parking can also potentially be found along Memorial Drive or on a local street. Give yourself a little extra time if you wish to do this, and realize it is not guaranteed. I've also heard of people parking inside of unattended MIT parking lots on the weekend, but this is unofficial, and doing so is at your own risk.

IMPORTANT NERD NOTE: NERD has a policy that all attendees are required to show government-issued ID to be admitted to the building.

Preparation: Please come prepared! Instructions are below. It is important to come prepared since getting set up is not terribly difficult, but it takes a while for things to run. This includes having an Azure account set up in advance. We will make use of this Azure account EARLY in the day and you will use it FREQUENTLY.

Thanks so much for having me and giving me the opportunity to get the word out about a great opportunity for Azure development at JumpStart.com. Feel free to reach out to me for any further information and thanks to those that have already. Communities and events like this one are critical to future success for all of us, thanks again.

I've never actually been to the NERD center, can anyone provide some extra directions? I have been to the Cambridge center, is it close to there?

Has anyone successfully used instructions under the "HOW DO I PREPARE FOR THE DAY?" section in the description? Would like some confirmation that it is sufficient. Please reply here. Be great to see a couple of people validate it. Also, if any issues, feel free to post them as well and we'll work through it.

Hey Bill, If we are signed up on Meetup does this guarantee us a spot or is their going to be additional registration at some point? I just want to make sure so I don't miss out.

    • Bill W.

Devin - Meetup is the only signup, so if you are accepted via Meetup (not on waiting list) that means you are all set. Note that there are now TWO events to choose between (NERD Cambridge and BlueMetal Watertown).

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
