Puppet Comes to Azure!

Did you realize that Microsoft recently announced support for Puppet on Azure? Come join Ranjit Viswakumar from Puppet Labs (the ones who created Puppet) to hear about Puppets, Puppet Masters, Azure Agents, and how they can make your life more awesome.

6:00 - 6:25 - Pizza

6:25 - 6:30 - Call to order

6:30 - 7:00 - Bill Wilder will introduce Azure Resource Groups, a new concept in Azure, and one that complements other model-driven feature support such as Puppet.

7:00 - 8:15 Ranjit will explain the background around Puppet (where it came from, why we need it), what it does, and how to use it. He will conclude by showing how to use it within Azure. He will also take your questions.

8:15 - 8:30 Announcements, SWAG

About Ranjit: Ranjit Viswakumar got into the technology space as an IT technician.  He made his living ghosting systems and using golden images.  From that space, he transitioned into phone support for Hosting.com, a hosting provider in Delaware. He grew in that company as a Windows/Linux technician in support, professional services, and finally sales engineering.  After moving to the Boston area, he took a role as a Platform Engineer for SiteSpect, a Boston start up company specializing in A/B and mutli-variate testing.  Most recently, Ranjit joined Puppet as a Professional Services Engineer, offering training and consultation for companies in the local area as well as across the nation.

We have reserved space on 6/26/2014 from 6:00pm-8:30pm in the Deborah Sampson room, set theater for 36 people. But looks like we've been bumped up to the 11th floor (enter on 11, walk down to 10)

Superb job by Ranjit. We all learned 'why' and enough 'how' to appreciate the value of Puppet and its value within the Azure cloud.
