Good Day, A group organizer for Artists + Artisans has stepped down and I've volunteered to take the reins. I'm a first-time Meetup Organizer, so we'll have to learn as we go. Number one, this group is for anyone who likes to make something out of anything, make something from nothing, make art from trash and turn trash to treasure. If your project is portable, then bring it. What projects could people possibly have? Sewing, painting, sketching, crocheting, knitting, pottery, paper making, carving, metal working, jewelry making and book binding just came to mind. With winter weather coming, wouldn't be cool to meet somewhere and work on our projects while it snows outside? The scheduled Meetups are still a go as planned, if you want to attend! . If you have ideas about what to do and where to go, please speak up. I'm looking into other venues, where we could possibly meet to work and our stuff would be safe from food crumbs and coffee stains. Public libraries have meeting rooms where we could talk above a whisper, right? In conclusion, I'm Melissa and the Coast Guard just transferred me to Boston a few months ago. I live in South End and love to walk, bike and take the T anywhere. I'll use a Zipcar when I have to. Currently, I'm dedicated to sewing quilt blocks from fabric scraps. I can knit, but need to practice more. I want to learn crochet, tatting, and how to make clothes. I love drawing, but am still stuck in the beginner stages. If you teach me to draw, I'll teach you to sew, deal? Ideas? See you there, Melissa

We just grab a coffee and speak French. Some people have been coming every week for months... it creates a kind of warmth to the group.
