If you could meet one deceased jazz musician, who would it be and what would you ask him/her?

Miles. I would ask him what he's reading these days.

Are you a musician, and if so, what instrument do you play?

Yes. I'm a drummer and singer.

What is your favorite jazz venue in Boston?

The Lily Pad. It's the most intimate venue in the Boston area. Then there's the Regattabar. I've been there so many times and it feels comfortable. We used to take Bus #1 from Berklee to Harvard Sq. and see Elvin Jones and Tony Williams and others.

Who is your favorite Boston based jazz artist?

The Fringe

What is your favorite jazz recording?

If I absolutely had to choose, I guess I would settle on Keith Jarrett's "Personal Mountains". It is quite a fantastic live album of some of the most beautifully complex and fine music in the world.

I'm a musician. I play and enjoy listening to all jazz, but here I'm particularly interested in meeting others who enjoy the under-represented world of ECM, such as the music of Keith Jarrett, Jan Garbarek, Bobo Stenson, etc.
