This Friday, October 2, the Armenian Library and Museum of
America in Watertown, MA will resume its Jazz Nights @ ALMA concert series with
a performance by the Armen Donelian Trio. The
show begins at 8 p.m. in the Museum���s Contemporary Art Gallery, a unique
venue where outstanding jazz and beautiful art collide.
Called ���a pianist with a
crystalline touch, but a penchant for avant gardism��� (New York Times), Armen Donelian will play
a versatile set of original compositions with David Clark (bass) and George
Donelian recently made his musical
mark in Greece where he taught
and performed as a 2009 Fulbright Senior Specialist at Ionian
University in Corfu and Nakas
Conservatory in Athens .
He has also taught and performed in Switzerland ,
Austria , Holland
since the start of the year. Donelian���s astounding career also includes
collaborations with jazz legends such as Sonny Rollins, Chet Baker, Paquito
D���Rivera, Mongo Santamaria and Billy Harper.
The series takes place on the
first Friday of every month. Tickets are $15 each; ALMA members, JazzBoston
members and students (with proper ID) pay $10. Admission includes one
complimentary glass of wine for persons 21+. Advance reservations are encouraged and may be made by e-mailing

Museum doors open at 7:30 p.m.,
giving early arriving patrons the chance to browse
ALMA ���s exhibits free of charge.
