I hope you had a chance to check out last week's edition of the Boston Phoenix where Earthsound
was featured in an article and review
by writer Jon Garelick. He wrote a great piece about our CD, Movement
, and the approach of the group.
I'd like to invite you to a special show with Earthsound this Thursday, October 8, 7-9 PM
at the Lily Pad
in Cambridge, MA, featuring the talents of Fernando Brand?o, flute,
Nando Michelin, piano, Steve Langone, drums, and myself, Jason Davis,
on bass. You'll be sure to enjoy our mix of original jazz, music from
Brazil, Peru, and Armenia, and improvisation with environmental sound.
You will even hear a little Maurice Ravel!
This may be our last show for a little while, so please don't miss it! You'll be able to pick up copies of the CD as well.

Boston-based Earthsound is doing its
part in the new millennium to bring a healthier respect for the natural
environment through music, much like the Paul Winter Consort pioneered
in the late 1960s. Jazz improvisation is at the heart of this project,
which bubbles with world music influences from several continents - and
a little help from frogs, Antarctic seals, birds and a variety of
inhabitants of a Costa Rican rainforest.
