Xamarin 3 Celebration and Xamarin.iOS Designer talk

Join us June 19th at 6pm for a Xamarin 3 celebration event (we're starting a half hour early to have plenty of time for the evening's festivities :)

To celebrate the release of Xamarin 3, we'll have cake and pizza provided by our friends from Xamarin. Then we'll have a couple different talks.

As a warm up act, from 6:30-7pm I'll be giving an overview of all the exciting features released as part of Xamarin 3.

After that, for the main event, Alex Corrado from the Xamarin iOS Designer team will join us for a presentation on the Xamarin.iOS designer.

We also have a special offer for everyone who attends!

Session: Introducing the Xamarin Designer for iOS

With the Xamarin 3 release, iOS developers have a powerful new tool for visualizing and designing native UIs: the Xamarin Designer for iOS. The designer is integrated directly in Xamarin Studio and Visual Studio, and its native file format is Apple’s storyboard format, so existing storyboards created in Xcode can be edited directly in your favorite IDE. Xamarin’s iOS Designer also has unique features for C# developers that improve upon the old Xcode editing experience.

This talk will introduce the Xamarin Designer for iOS and illustrate some best practices for visually designing your application’s user interface. You’ll see how its custom control support enables you to develop parts of your UI in code, while still visualizing them in your application’s storyboard. Finally, we’ll take a closer look at Auto Layout and how to work with layout constraints in the Xamarin iOS Designer.

Speaker: Alex Corrado @chknofthescene

Excellent demo. I've started working with 3.0 but this covered a lot very quickly and draws me into trying some of the new features I didn't know about. I'm also so grateful to be done with Xcode IBuilder.

Looking forward to it. The re design looks great. Just waiting for one bug to be fixed then I will be using it. I believe the bug with not being able to create a Segue from a UIBarButtonItem is fixed but wait for the next release.
