Piers Park in East Boston offers an amazing view of the city, and catching this view at sunset / golden hour / blue hour can make for some stunning shots of our awesome city. If you have a tripod, that would be a very good idea for some nice long exposures. After maybe we can grab pizza and beer at Santarpios? Sunset is about 8pm, so let's plan on 7:30pm.
UPDATE - May 14th -
I just added a map to the description (above). I have highlighted 4 areas:
PIERS PARK - we will meet here - probably at the end of the pier (by the gazebo structure).
LO PRESTI PARK - This is a place where some of you might want to venture off to, it offers a nice view and if we really have 70 photographers that show up, it offers more space - consider it a secondary location that you can go off to if you so desire.
MBTA Blue Line: Maverick Station - closest station to PIERS - you might consider taking public transportation as I don't think there are 70+ parking spots, although on-street is available as well.
SANTARPIO'S PIZZA - mmmm Santarpio's.
If it's raining, I'd suggest we postpone to the following week (May 25th, same time), if there are clouds and no rain, it's on like donkey king ya'll.
A couple notes:
Dress warm, it might be cool and / or windy - layers suggested.
Bring a tripod - you'll need it.
Be careful of the tide, I actually got stranded on rocks at LO PRESTI park last week (jumped the fence) - and had to walk through knee deep water back to shore (with equipment). If you are going to be adventurous, be aware of the tide, thats all!
