Industry Event Boston 2012 next Thursday, Oct 11

Boston has a thriving art community brimming with creativity and innovation. For ONE night each year, Boston’s inclusive creative community comes together to celebrate its successes, catch up with favorite collaborators and make new connections that will drive our businesses and our city forward.

It’s called Industry Event Boston and it’s happening on Thursday, October 11, 2012 from 6:30pm -10:00pm at Quixote Studios in Allston. Producers, stylists, art buyers, photographers, filmmakers, actors and creatives from every industry will gather for a night of glitz and glam, networking and a celebration of public art in Boston. This event is open to everyone– from the full-time creatives to those who want to dip their toe into this world. More than 300 people attended last year’s event and this year’s will be bigger and better, including:

DJ Die Young, recently named Boston’s Best DJ by the Improper Bostonian Magazine, on the decks
Photo booth from Detography!
Raffle featuring some amazing prizes
The opportunity to network with Boston’s most dynamic and exciting creative professionals

Tickets are on sale now THROUGH THE IEBOSTON.COM WEBSITE for $30 per person or $50 for two. All proceeds from ticket sales will benefit Photo Nights Boston, a new non-profit that’s bringing a major public photography festival to Boston in October 2013 and whose mission is to grow Boston’s creative economy and promote public art. It was a fun event and I met some really interesting people from a variety of disciplines. One critique was that there were mostly suppliers there and not many people who would be interested in buying my services. That said, the range and depth of skills and styles was very interesting to experience.
