We're broke...

As you can probably tell, we are passionate about growing our Boston PHP meetup group. Right now, we are the most active and largest meetup group of its kind on the east coast.?

We have been working very hard to bring you engaging and exciting topics and presentations all related to Web Development, Open Source, and of course PHP. There is a lot of behind the scenes work to make all of this happen. I know I am sending you tons of email and I really appreciate your support and patience.

But we are broke...

I am writing to you to ask for your help in finding us financial sponsors and support for 2011.?

We want to continue to make Boston PHP free and open to all members. I have heard from so many of you on how much you all appreciate the kind of events we host. But perhaps you didn't know that we do all of this without much financial backing. In most cases, the costs to run the group come out of our own pockets.

You have heard us announce that we have some really big events in store for 2011. These events are going to challenge us, and are big enough that they are going to require some substantial money to make them happen.

Here is how you can help:

  • Be a corporate sponsor
If you own a profitable company, and want to get the word out on your product or services, then we think being a financial sponsor is a great way to help us and get your company logo seen on our website and at our venues.?

As you probably know, we now have almost 1,500 members on our meetup site.?We've had 35,709 visits came from 118 countries/territories. Our meetups now typically attract over 400 attendees from all over New England.

Consider becoming a regular sponsor and get your name associated with hottest meetup in the area. Please contact?Matt Murphy, or visit our?Sponsor page.
  • Use our Amazon store for all of your online purchases
We now have an Amazon store that we created to sell books for the beginner self study program. All proceeds from purchases made through this store will go into helping with our expenses. As an example, last week we sold just 15 PHP books which in turn earned us $42! All of the proceeds made from the store will help pay for events.

    Consider this...
If you have any Amazon?purchases?to make, consider hitting our store first and help Boston PHP in the process. It doesn't cost you any extra to use the store, but it sure will help us.?
  • Sponsor an event
If there is a particular event that you can help us with, that would be great too. We have two big events in particular that will require us to rent a large conference center to hold up to 1000+ people. Get your name and company associated with these events, and help us in the process.

Please contact Matt Murphy, or visit our Sponsor page.

  • Twist the arm of someone you know that could help us
Perhaps it goes without saying, but if you know of a company or organization that can help us financially, then please twist their arm and ask them to get involved.?

Thank you again for your patience and support in 2010.?To learn more about sponsorship and how you can help, please contact?Matt Murphy, and/or visit our?Sponsor page.
