Northeast PHP 2013...

Boston PHP'ers,
Last year, we teamed up with our neighbors* to create a first-of-its-kind local conference focused on PHP, Web Technology, and User Experience. We named it Northeast PHP.

We wanted to make it an entirely non profit community organized event. We also wanted to keep ticket prices affordable so anyone can go. We started with no money, no speakers, no website, no venue, and practically no time.

But with your help, along with over 400 other volunteers, speakers, and sponsors within the PHP community, Northeast PHP 2012 was a huge success! We were even recognized by Microsoft as the top event of 2012. Woohoo!

Let's do it again

Northeast PHP 2013 will be Aug 16, 17th, 18th at the Microsoft NERD center. Mark your calendar.

We are still keeping our casual 2-day weekend format, however we have added an optional workshop day on Friday Aug 16th before.

Tickets are not yet available, but they will be affordable.

We are now looking for Speakers, Sponsors, and Keynotes. Free and discount tickets to volunteers.

Call for papers

Boston PHP has a history of recruiting speakers from within our own community. For this event, we would like to do the same. So if you've been wanting to share your experiences with the community, or even if you've presented with us before - we need your help to put on a great event.

If I've twisted your arm about speaking at Boston PHP before, then now is the time to return me the favor. Please submit your name and topic ideas here: NortheastPHP.org

Be a volunteer get in cheap or free

Northeast PHP is 100% volunteer run. We need all the help we can get. As a volunteer, you will receive discounted or free tickets just for volunteering. Volunteers must wear smiles all the time.

See our list of volunteering jobs.

Be a sponsor

Sponsoring Northeast PHP is a great opportunity to show your support for the PHP community. Our attendees include developers, designers, entrepreneurs, and educators from throughout the Northeast and beyond. Don't miss out on an opportunity to get in on the ground floor for this event.

For sponsorship information, you can send an email to [address removed], or you can visit our sponsors page.

Spread the news

Please help spread the word. As the largest PHP meetup in the world, we think a conference like this will be valuable for many in the Northeast Region. There are only 300 tickets, and we have some big names coming to town. So mark your calendar, and stay tuned for more details.

We will have talks and workshops on these tracks:

  • PHP Development
All things PHP coding. Frameworks, best practices, what's new, tips and tricks, etc.
  • Web Development
Everything else related to web technology and development. HTML5, JS, CSS, MySQL, you name it!
  • User Experience (UX)
What is the web worth without a human interface? The track includes topics related to: User Interface, Interaction Design, Design, Usability, Agile, Lean UX, etc...

Northeast PHP 2013 : August 16-18th 2013 : NEPHP.org : #neph

Remember that the conference is entirely non-profit, with all proceeds being used to pay for the conference itself, including food and other expenses required to run a conference of this size. We also plan to take this event up the coast in the future.

A travelling conference that does't cost you a fortune. We need your help. Please show your support and help us create one of the best conferences in the Northeast region.

Looking forward to hearing from you,

Michael Bourque
