“ Hello all, I am a new member of Boston Poetry. I note meetings are on Friday evenings which might be difficult for me to attend as a nurse but maybe I can work something out. Sounds like a very vibrant and informative group. I attended the Brookline Poetry Series readings at The Public Library of Brookline on 1/20/13 and read one of my poems. Great turnout and such talented writers. Very enjoyable. Hope to attend more poetry readings at different venues and meet the members of BP soon. Janet ”

“ I've benefited from the two meetings I attended but wish more poets would show up! Only Zachary was there September 25- but I enjoyed our conversation and he gave helpful feedback on a poem. ”

“ To get comments on your work instead of your wardrobe. Seriously, people who can't write will weed themselves out rather quickly. I like the fact that the workshop has morphed into a writers' community. Sometimes one doesn't feel like going to readings alone. ”

“ Last night was my third meeting. Several weeks ago I was eating at Borders and noticed the group. I noticed the poetry books and asked what the group was all about. They welcomed me very, very cordially. So I came back the next week. The organizer did a great job of creating an absorbing agenda and keeping things moving it a good way. They've adopted the habit of "explicating" one famous poem per week. The woman who did the explicating two weeks agp was obviously very knowledgeable and her piece came across like a scholarly work. Very bright, well-eduated group extremely knowledgeable about poetry. Announced assignment sometimes. I have hardly written any poetry in many years. I was inspired to write one that I submitted for comment. Comments were constructive and helpful. ”
