Anything that touches a nerve and I think is worth conveying to anyone else after a great many revisions and re-revisions!
T.S. Eliot, the Beats, Edna St. Vincent Millay, Hemingway, Faulkner, Emily Dickinson, Langston Hughes, Sylvia Plath.
It can be as powerful as any other form of writing out there and it gives you the freedom to play with images and words in a way gthat some of the other literary forms cannot.
