I teach computer science at Olin College. I use Python in several classes, and it is my go-to language for my own projects, including Swampy. I have written several books using Python, including Think Python, Think Stats and Think Complexity.
I learned Python by reading my own book. I wrote the Java version of "How to Think Like a Computer Scientist". Jeff Elkner translated it into Python and that's how I learned Python.
I am waiting for an excuse to play with Raspberry Pi.
