We require ALL members to do the following:
(1) Complete ALL sections of the Profile Questionnaire.
We are a group for TALL people - HEIGHT is a pretty critical statistic aroud here... :)
If you do not specify your height, your membership will be declined.
The more we know about you and your preferences, the more likely we are to host an event of your liking.
The more interesting/entertaining your profile is, the more likely other members will be to reach out to you in person at an event, or via Meetup e-mail.
If it is not clear from your user name whether you are a male or female, and what your first name is, you are required to include this information in the first section of your written Profile.
(2) Add one or more recent photo's to your Profile.
It is a lot easier to recognize each other at events if we know what everyone looks like!
Therefore it is mandatory that all members post a clear head&shoulders photo as part of their profile.
We're generally all SINGLE and looking... :) People look at who's going to be attending events - and if they like what they see, they'll join the event - The more smiling photo's to be seen, the more likely people will respond to both events and personal contacts.
FOR THE RECORD: The above has been mentioned by several members on separate occasions in response to surveys re: what would encourage higher RSVP & attendance rates.
(3) Vote re: your event preferences and work and home locations via our Polls.
There are 4 Polls at http://www.meetup.com...
You need to vote on ALL 4 Polls.
Note that Poll votes are anonymous, so no one can tell who lives where or who specifically wants which types of events.
(4) Practice common courtesy re: RSVP'ing and event attendance.
Prompt RSVP's are appreciated. If you need to change your RSVP, please do so ASAP. If you don't have access to a computer, call the event organizer (all YES RSVP's will be supplied with a contact phone number 24 hrs before the event).
Persistent/repeat no-show-ers (people who RSVP Yes and then don't show up at the event) will have their membership cancelled.
(5) Be active on our Meetup! Members who are inactive for more than 6 months will be removed.
To be considered as "active" you need to perform one or more of the following within a 6 month period:
(i) RSVP for an event (even if it is to say Maybe or No);
(ii) Read and/or post a topic on the Group's Message Board;
(iii) Browse the Group's Calendar while logged onto Meetup;
(iv) Attend an event and be marked as present by the Organizer
Members who have been inactive for more than 6 months are automatically removed by meetup software
(6) E-mail specifc suggestions or questions re: events, or any other questions, to the Organizer.
