January 2014

Beginner's Track - 6pm - Jeffrey Matthias

Food, Beverages and Networking - 6:30pm

Confidently Build Complex Domains in Rails - 7:15pm - Mike AbiEzzi

ClojureScript - 8pm - JR (Jacob Richardson)

The meeting will kick off with the optional Beginner's Track where Jeffrey will cover basic exceptional handling.  Food and beverages will be on hand by 6:30 where you have a chance to grab something to eat and drink while chatting with your fellow Rubyists.  We get the remainder of the meeting started around 7:15 where we start with announcements.

Our first presentation will be from Mike AbiEzzi from Quick Left.  He's presenting 'Confidently Build Complex Domains in Rails'.  With Rail’s simplicity and conventions, it easy for a small set of models to quickly grow into a complicated, hard to understand representation of the domain you’re trying to model. This presentation will explore a simple set of techniques from Domain Driven Design that will ensure that your models and business logic are communicated and structured in a way that makes them easy to understand, change, and grow, no matter how complex the domain.

Following that JR, Jacob Richardson, will give his talk on ClojureScript.  We'll have the full details on this posted soon.
