February Meeting

Beginner's Track - 6pm - Jeffrey Matthias

The meeting will kick off with the optional Beginner's Track on Tips and Tricks in IRB. Food and beverages will be on hand by 6:30 where you have a chance to grab something to eat and drink while chatting with your fellow Rubyists.  We get the remainder of the meeting started around 7:15 where we start with announcements.

We've got two presentations.

Derek Haynes will be presenting 'Ruby Hipster toolset for beautiful realtime monitoring'

Viewing metrics at high-resolution (say, 1 second) is important: we're deploying apps several days a day and we need to know quickly when something went wrong.
But who wants to stare at terminal screens using a hodge-podge ofdifferent Linux commands? They don't give historical context, aren't easy to share, and are painful to our hipster-influenced eyes that are used to Instagram photos of coffee art and artisanal breads.

After that, Chris Riddoch will be giving a talk on The Gems in RubyGems.
