Boulder Raw Meetup - 14er Hike - Saturday, Sept 19th

From: Joseph F.
Sent on: Sunday, September 13, 2009 10:06 PM

Greetings!

Jenny from the Raw Meetup is organizing a hike up Mt. Bierstadt.  If you have been wanting to hike a 14er, this is the perfect opportunity; Jenny has been hiking 14er all summer and knows her way around a mountain.

Also, check the calendar for the next rawluck(after the hike):  Sat Sept. 19, Boulder Public Library, 5:30pm

Joseph

Here are the details:

***********************

Due to the total bliss-enjoyment from the past 14er adventure, we’re planning another one this weekend.  We’ll be hiking up Mt. Bierstadt.

When:  Saturday, Sept. 19th.  Meet at Whole Foods parking lot (Pearl & 28th St)

Time: 6:00-6:30 am (it takes about 2 hours to get to the trailhead)

Bring:  Water, snack, warm clothes (be prepared for cold and wet and sun!).  Wear sturdy footwear.

The route is 7 miles roundtrip with 2,850 ft. elevation gain.  Here are more details for the hike:  http://www.14ers.com./routemain.php?route=bier1&peak=Mt.+Bierstadt.  Be prepared to spend the whole day – we should get back into town around 4-5 pm, just in time for the rawluck!!

RSVP required!  I need to know who’s coming so I’ll know who to wait for at Whole Foods.  Jenny -[masked]-2879.   [address removed]

Side note:  Due to road condition closing, we’ll be making our way there through the south (Grant to Guenella Pass Rd.) off 285.  It is approx. 2 hour drive-time from Boulder to the trailhead.
