Brevard Tea Party Independence Day Celebration

"This event will honor our Founding Fathers and provide a forum for people to speak out against the outrageous activities taking place in Washington, DC," Nye said. "This country was founded on the principles of individual rights, limited government and free enterprise. Arrogant, short sighted politicians in Washington, DC have forgotten those principles, and so we must remind them what made this country great, and of the oaths they took when sworn into office."

The event will feature guest speakers, entertainment and dozens of exhibitors. There will be a baseball game and fireworks display afterwards; both are included in the $5 ticket price.

"The Tea Party movement serves as the catalyst to get ordinary working people involved - we want them to come out, get engaged, and learn how they can make a difference in the process," Nye said. "Apathy is no longer an option; just as our forefathers stood against the redcoats so many years ago, Americans must once again stand up and fight if they want to preserve the greatest country known to man."

I'm so sad that I'll be away for this get together. I'm so excited that the TEA party is still going strong. I will be there in spirit. Please keep me updated on more meetings.

We as the people of this great country can not let the ruins of our government ruin us. We have a right to insure that we stay free without BIG GOVERNMENT in our faces day in and out.GOD BLESS AMERICA THE LAND OF THE FREE :)

The meetup was about liberty, upon entering the stadium I observed an elderly women being forced to empty a one liter bottle of water. I inquired as to why she was not free to keep her water ( temperature around 100 degrees) I was told it was for security reasons. She can get water inside ($3.00/bottle). This is what is wrong in this country.

.Enjoyed being with all the people who listened so intently on the great politcal thoughts. Specially liked the picking of 10 people at the end for the 1 minute thoughts!!

There were about 3000 people. The box up above won't let you put in more then 999. I would like to see the stadium full but we need more publicity, a lot of people I talked to didn't even know about it! Pressure needs to be put on Florida Today to start reporting the news an not be an opinion or editorial paper for the OBAMA Administration. Perhaps a Blizzard of letters to the editor might help. And talk to the advertisers to put pressure on the paper to start investigative reporting of the news or they will put their MONEY elsewhere, instead of doing slanted opinion parrot pieces of the Obama liberal agenda! Hit then where it hurts, the pocket book! Remind them if the economy stays like it is there will be NO BUSINESS left! We will all be BROKE!

Fantastic! It was great to be around like-minded patriots. My only problem is that I fear there are not enough of us.

The celebration was excellent, and I am proud to be part of this movement. The speakers were all very inspirational and cannot wait for the next party.

This Tea Party was my second and it was very well planned! A great beginning, but where do we all go from here. All of us are still trying to get in touch with our representatives and communication isn't always available. Also, we are waiting for the emergence of those who will publicly espouse our beliefs with TRUE representation so we may begin to get behind them as our new leaders. John Vennerholm

the box above won't let me put in more than 999. I'm not good at guessing crowd size but I think it was more than that. I did not like the fact that beer was sold. This was a get together to show our allegiance to our country, not to have a party. Fortunately no one around me drank to excess. Would have been better if the microphone worked better, especially for the National Anthem. I also did not appreciate veterans (wearing military caps) did NOT take their caps off for the Anthem. Very disrepectful.
